Barley’s Angels – Rhein-Main Chapter founded

A group of women with only one topic: Beer. When the Barley’s Angels meet, it is about hops & yeast, malt & mash. Men are not allowed!

The group was founded as a subgroup of an international association to bring women to the topic of craft beer. Beer enthusiast and Mainz chapter founder Angi Wilkes invites you to a monthly meeting. “I want to inspire women to drink more beer, and to be open to trying new things”, says [Beer] artist and homebrewer Angi Wilkes.

Tastings will include craft beers, artisan beers from Germany, and other international specialties. There are, of course, the Light, Dark, and Wheat beers everyone in Germany knows, but there is also much more. There will be beers presented that are stuffed with hops and are loaded with citrus and floral aromas. There will be barrel aged specialties loaded with interesting flavors such as whiskey, and even beers that are not brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516 (Reinheitsgebot), but still offer very special taste experiences. The women that take part in the tastings can go home and expertly explain the beers to their loved ones at home.

Barley’s Angels is not just a social, beer-drinking club for women. Barley’s Angels respect beer and brewing, have a thirst for education, enjoy beer responsibly and act appropriately at all times.

Information and dates are available here and on the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BarleysAngelsDeutschlandDieGerstenengel , in the “Craft Beer Locations” and directly from Angi Wilkes.
